We believe that students can be taught valuable lessons though participation in athletics. Literature on youth sport stresses the positive effects of participation in learning the important life skills of goal setting and time management combined with enjoyment; the development of a strong sense of morality; and the development of an appreciation of diversity.

In the interest of good sportsmanship and Christian beliefs, we ask all athletes, students and parents too:

- Show proper respect to the players on both teams.
- Show proper respect for the visiting crowd.
- Show proper respect to the officials.
- Remember that the other team's players, coaches, and fans are not our enemies but opponents in a game.
- Please do not show a negative reaction to an official's decision or to a player's performance.
- Be a positive reflection of Christ.
