EPHESIANS 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast
We believe that men, women, and children are rescued from the effects of sin by GRACE ALONE; this is the undeserved mercy of God. The basis for the grace of God, that alone gives hope to sinners, is the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe that through FAITH ALONE forgiveness and more become ours. Faith is a relationship of dependence upon Jesus; it is created in a person's heart by the power of the Holy Spirit working through God’s Word. It is not a human work but a gift from God.
GOD’S WORD ALONE – not God’s Word and tradition, not God’s Word and the church, not God’s Word and human reason, not God’s Word and experience – God's Word alone stands as the final standard of the Good News of the Gospel. In the Bible, God's Word gives us the rule and norm for all belief and through it makes us aware of sin, fills us with faith in Jesus, and guides us in faith-filled living.
We profess the APOSTLE'S CREED; this is the earliest statement of the Christian belief and is widely used by Christians around the world. A creed is simply a statement of faith. The word derives from the Latin word "credo" which means "believe".
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the Life everlasting.
Amen.
